Fall Looks: The French Girl

Fall Looks: The French Girl

October is finally here! The arrival of Fall means changing leaves, hot cocoa, pumpkins, and if you’re like me, sweater weather. A new season means a closet full of new outfits that embody the dark tones that complete the key look for autumn. It’s time to break out the boots, scarves, cardigans, and deep lipstick hues.

Fall is one of my favorite scenes and aside from all the horror films and new Starbucks coffee flavors, it's one of my favorites to dress up for. Mixing up summer and winter pieces to create something unique is always a fun part of the season. Your style expands, taking a new creative turn as you become an autumn fashionista.

Although knitted wool and heavy fabrics are necessary stay-warm go-to’s, another perfect look for fall is combining stripes with a dark color.

I call this look, the French girl. A long-sleeved, black and white striped Ralph Lauren shirt tucked into a dark maroon faux leather skirt with Steve Madden's Noodless Lugged Sole black boots. Add silky black tights to stay warm, a black beret, wine-colored lipstick, and voila, you’ve created the perfect chic look.

Tip: Big sunglasses are always a plus and add to the mysterious look. As a lover of large sunglasses in all shapes and colors, I believe they are a key must-have for any outfit.
